Colophon
Site
This site is static HTML that’s built using Hugo, and a theme which has been tweaked to the point where I don’t remember what it was originally called. At some point I may try using Eleventy, but at the moment the site is in a not broken, don’t fix state…
Hosting & deployment
All the code sits in a repo on Github, and the site is hosted on Render. The Render daemon watches the repo and automagically deploys whenever I make a git push. It just works, so I’m very happy with Render as a hosting service.
Writing
On my Mac, I’m using VS Code and raw Git on the command line. On an iOS device, Working Copy fetches and pushes from Github, and I create and edit text using Textastic.
Analytics
There’s very basic Cloudflare analytics just to keep track of things. I’m not really that bothered about tracking traffic, and web analytics is something I touch so infrequently that trying to figure out (again) how to make it work “properly” is more trouble than it’s worth.
